9-Reasons why school education system got outdated and expired
I’m a father of 7-year old kid, when i started to search for a good educational syllabus for giving a good education to my kid i don’t feel the education system is updated as the world updated now,
I’m 37-years old now so you can assume that when i started my schooling ! around 32-years back when i started my education the world was not like this & the information we needed are not as handy as we have now on web which is in our hands as mobile & on tables as computers, so at that time when information was not handy like today we are supposed to either memorise it or we can find it on physical books which we can find only on libraries those days, so i’ve got 9-reasons why the current education system got expired & outdated !
1. Memorising matters here but it doesn’t
Fact: As we all know the educational system now which has a procedure that makes the kids to memorise the subject (what ever it may be) & he must show or prove his ability on the exam. Here comes the question for me, in our current technology we all have our mobile in hand & if we just ask ‘siri’ or ‘google assistant’ it will just answer us the simple questions or if it’s complicated if we just search it on any search engines like google it will show all the answers with more & different perspectives. So memorising & testing the kids with exams totally makes no-sense for current generation kids.
Needed: For this generation they are supposed to listen the teaching of subjects they are interested in & we must give more time for them to observe the facts. For this, classes should be a place where teachers can portray the facts & students must be an audience but they can have their own perspectives which they can convey to their teachers via writing(like current day exams), in that if the teacher finds any moral differences they can correct the children.
2. It’s totally outdated
Fact: When you get into the subjects it totally speaks about the incidents happened earlier & some irrelevant mathematical calculations which we study in schooling syllabus which has no purpose in practical life.
Needed: For primary education basic reading / writing & calculating skills are more than enough & for the upper education we can teach the kids by making them hear & can ask them to write their perspectives on their own view & what they think about the subjects they observed. Which makes them think & get their own perspectives on their lives.
3. Children are taught to obey blindly without reasoning
Fact: In our educational system teachers are taught to make the children obey their commands, but it’s totally opposite for what we needed. As teachers they are supposed to make them think & reason on all perspectives of them in all subjects, because we are humans & not animals to obey rules. When a child becomes a man or woman they are supposed to reason in all their ways & take decisions in their lives.
Needed: As a child we must make them to reason things on their own perspectives & if we find any bad in their thinking we must correct them in their thinking. So when they grow they are able to reason the situation in their life & they will take wise decisions.
4. Children are told to do no-matter they like it or not
Fact: Children are forced to do whether they like it or not ! As we know we all are not same & we all don’t like the same things. As we all are unique even in a choice of a colour, then how can we expect all the child to like or study everything ? As a fish can’t live in open air & a lion can’t live under water, everyone is different in God’s creation & everyone is unique in their ways.
Needed: As we know everyone in this universe is unique we must allow our kids to be unique in their way & we must lead them to do what interests them the most, because it helps the kids to excel them in their interests & keep them happy. Also they will achieve great destination in their lives if they do what they likes the most.
5. School teaches children what to think instead of how to think
Fact: Now a days school system are formed on the basis of one person’s perspective who formed the syllabus & making the children think what they formed, but it’s a very dangerous system which gives lot’s of psychological burden on children & it keeps them in a confused state when they need to take decisions. As we know everyone in this universe is unique in their ways we can’t put all of them in a same box. This system spoiled lot’s of children’s uniqueness & kept them in a mystery mode.
Needed: We must leave the children on their own way to think & must observe their own perspectives, if we find any immoral thinking in them then we can correct them. This makes the children how they are created & they will be better decision makes in their lives & as we all know our decision makes us.
6. School system suppresses child’s imagination
Fact: Imaginations are gift from God, we as humans are hugely blessed by God by having this wonderful gift of imagination. But the current education system totally suppressing the imagination of a kid & putting them behind the bars by making them dream about someone else writing(imaginations) which they made it as a syllabus.
Needed: We must allow kids to imagine & dream about everything they see and feel. Because imaginations & dreams makes a man or woman a wholesome. For any reason we must not put them into pressure on dreaming someone else’s imaginations.
7. Children are told to study only to pass exams
Fact: Now a days both the parents & teachers are so concerned about exams. They totally missed the core objective of education ! If we just sit & think for a minute we can understand it’s totally unworthy of making big fuss out of these exams & giving too much pressure on children. Also giving grades on them makes them feel differentiated from his/her friends & gives them an insecure feel. Also it destroys their hope & make them feel bad about themselves.
Needed: We must ask the children to write their perspectives on the lesson’s they’ve taught in class & if we find any moral differences in their perspectives we can teach more about them & make him a more moral human being, this is how we can make a kid in to a good human being.
8. Current educational system gives insecure feeling to kids
Fact: Differentiating kids with their grades leads them into insecure feelings & which may lead to more psychological problems in them. As they are kids we don’t take much out of their thoughts or feelings because we think they are just kids, but it makes a huge difference on the way they see this world & people. Giving hope on all situation is the one a education system must give but our current system does the opposite.
Needed: We should not differentiate kids within them & we must never compare within them. As we know every kid is unique in their own way & we must appreciate them on their own ways. Giving hopes on each & every moment in their life helps them grow as a strong person.
9. Ending up as corporate slaves
Fact: Now a days education became a pathway to job & that’s the only motive both the teachers and parents proclaims to their kids. But after all the grades and hardship in this educational system most of them are left with no job & living with fear about their future. Also this system proclaims that becoming a corporate slave is the life’s biggest goal & how shameful it is !
Needed: Life is not just about getting a job or becoming a corporate slave, it has more ! We as humans have lot to enjoy in life, every moment in life either it’s up’s or down’s it teaches a lot & making us a responsible human being. Let’s enjoy the moment of our life & let’s make our kids to explore themselves by being themselves, that’s the grates gift we can ever give them in this beautiful life which God gave, God bless you.
